Youth and Development Consultancy Institute (Etijah) is a specialized institute in developing, improving and disseminating development methodologies in the field of youth and community development. Etijah achieves this through its different activities and Training of Trainers (TOT) programs, which it holds in most of its projects. Based in Cairo, the Institute was founded in 2006 and registered on 16 August 2006 (Registration no. 6638), under the Egyptian Law No. 84/2002 for Non-Governmental Organizations.


Support to Higher Education


Etijah worked throughout most of its projects with university students applying to different social, health, economic programs. In addition, Etijah works currently on a program “Etijah Academy” which aims at solving the issues of applied education through a full grant program to help youth understand the retail sector. The program includes applied sessions, workshops and career counseling to guarantee that its graduates are ready to join the labor market with success.
Type of Support
Most of Etijah’s projects are through training, whether these trainings offer life skills or enhance social work. The project Etijah is implemented during 2013/2014. “Etijah’s Academy”, prepares youth for the retail sector in Egypt providing basic training helping them include English for retail, customer service and sales, employability and life skills, apprenticeship and simulated workspace; as well as offering them certificates and job opportunities following completion of the training.
Duration of Support
2 years.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should:
● have an academic background of bachelor degree or technical/vocational diplomas.
● be aged between 15-29 years old.
● be unprivileged and from marginalized areas.
● be motivated, hard workers, and quick learners.

Applications can be made online through this link: http://bit.ly/EtijahAcademy. Applicants are then called for a first assessment then move for interview and selection phases. Afterwards, applicants are informed whether they are accepted or not to start right after the training program.

Additional Information
Etijah implements a number of projects targeting youth among which is the “Mobadroon” project (Pioneers of Egypt). The program supports entrepreneurs who have a vision, are motivated and hard workers. This support is in the form of financial and technical grants in order to implement projects that aims at enhancing social, educational, economic sectors in Egypt. Furthermore, Etijah works with governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations on building their capacity through enhancing and dispersing development methodologies, which further empowers those organizations; enables them to maximize their abilities to better serve youth in a proficient manner; as well as ensures the sustainability of their programs, cultivate development efforts in Egypt and the Arab world. Etijah also partnered with several organizations such as World Bank, United Nations, British Council in Egypt, Ana Lindh Foundation, Synergos, Vodafone, and Nahdet el Mahrousa.
