Bibliotheca Alexandrina applies the Avizo® to understand the Great Sphinx erosion
In a mutual collaboration work between IBM Center for Advanced Studies in
Cairo (CAS) and the International School of Information Science (ISIS) in Bibliotheca
Alexandrina, an application of the Avizo® was carried out in order to study the effect of the low speed wind
over the Sphinx and identifying the vulnerable areas on the statue surface
which could help in designing any maintenance or preventive plans in the future.
