On 18 October 2009, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center is witnessing the Planetarium Theater official inauguration after the upgrading. The soft opening has taken place in August 2009, where in addition to the classic IMAX projector; the Planetarium offers the public digital full-dome shows using the latest Digistar 3 system.
Digistar 3 details the universe impeccably brining it so close to the public, so that they feel like flying through space and time. It will take the public on amazing adventurous journeys to explore the Universe as seen from the past and today; to discover more about the Solar System; to understand our own planet, Earth, with all its wonders; to even venture inside our Human Body to see with our own eyes some of the endless daily miracles that take us from one day to the next.
