Dr. Hamid holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University in 1970.he Joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Yemen in 1970 as a supplement diplomat working in the embassies in Britain, Yemen, Ethiopia, Belgium, Czechoslovakia and Jordan. Holds a diploma from Kuwait Institute of Planning in 1972 ,a Diploma in diplomacy from Oxford University in 1974 and a diploma in international relations from the University of Sanaa in 1986.
Dr. Hamid was born at El-Nadra, Yemen in 1946, he is Married with a son and four daughters.
He worked in the Yemeni foreign political, economic, public relations ,consular and Cultural departments. He published Studies in "New Yemen " magazine and in "political research" magazine issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Yemen, also the Indian international affairs which is a quarterly magazine and ALEPH magazine which is issued in both English and Arabic in London on the UT Phoenix Foundation. He Participated in the Second Arab Strategic Conference held at Center for Political and Strategic Studies in El-Ahram in 1989 and Arab unity symposium in Amman in 1990.He delivered Lectures on Arab Affairs in New Delhi, London, Liverpool and Birmingham.He Wrote in several Yemeni , Jordanian and Indian newspapers, he also wrote in Al-Ahram and el Quds Al-Arabi at London. He is currently editor in the Al Hayat newspaper , he was interviewed several times by the British , American, Canadian, German and Irish media at the period from 2000 to 2005.Chaired the Arab League Mission in India from 1991 to 1995 and in London from 2000 to 2005. He received the title of ambassador in August 1991 and the ambassador's degree in January 1993
