  Prof . Dr. Mostafa Tolba got his PhD. in Microbiology from Imperial College, London, England & currently is an Emeritus Professor at Faculty of Science, Cairo University. He also served as Executive Director & Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). He also served as Minster of Youth , Under Secretary of State at Ministry of higher Education & Cultural Counselor and Director of Egyptian Education Bureau, Egyptian Embassy, Washington, D.C. He is currently the President of the International Center for Environment and Development (ICED), Chairman of Environmental Management Egypt (EEMAN) & of Egyptian Society for Consumer Protection. He is president of ECOPAST - Center for Environment and Our Common Past, Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Advisory Councils to the President of Egypt for Economic Development and for Education & Scientific Research, of the Board of Directors - Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, of the World Resources Institute , Board of Directors, Washington, D.C., of the International Academy of the Environment , Board of Directors, Geneva, Switzerland, of Tylor Ecology Award Selection Committee (USA) & Council Member of the World Innovation Foundation (UK). Honorary Member of the “Earth 90” Executive Board, Tokyo, Japan.

Prof. Dr. Mostafa Tolba authored over 95 scientific papers published in national, European and American scientific journals & has more than 700 statements and articles on the environment. He issued many books. He was the editor of several volumes of many scientific Encyclopedia .He received many honors & prizes such as Honorary Doctorate of Law, Williams College, USA, 1990, Honorary Professorship, Beijing University, China, 1987, Honorary Doctorate of Science, Gembloux, Belgium, 1985, Global Environment Leadership Award, Global Environmental Facility (GEF), 2003 , Global Environmental Award, International association For Impact Assessment (IAIA), 2003, Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Protection of the Ozone Layer ( UNEP ), 2000 & Award of the Ministery of State for Scientific Research, 2000,2001,2002,2003.
