Created a state of the art digital Clinical Physiology Department serving all of Oman in most invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular investigations, neurophysiology, autonomic function, pulmonary function and sleep medicine. Principal investigator of “Oman Family Study” which has taken long strides into the study of discrete phenotypes and genotypes of complex diseases, in large Arab pedigrees. Receiver of the Academy of Science fellowship (TWAS –2004).
Main scientific achievements are in hypertension, ambulatory B.P monitoring, baroreceptors, haemodynamics, and applications of signal processing and impedance cardiography in medicine . First to describe non-dipping B.P in type II diabetes.
