Abstract: The years between 1977 and 1991 saw a transition of the Jewish community of Ethiopia to Israel. On arrival in Israel, they found they had to adjust to a society and way of life that was entirely different from anything that they had experienced. This report traces the progress of participants in one of the many programmes that were set up to assist the new arrivals. Some ten years after participation, it is obvious that the Parents Cooperative Kindergarten had a profound influence on the lives of the 36 children who were traced as well as on their mothers and families.
