Abstract:
In December 2004, a workshop was organized to discuss the first results of a study of The Practice of Organisational Assessment among Dutch development organizations that are members of the joint capacity building organization PSO. Issues include: (1) participatory organizational assessment with a small partner organization; (2) ways to determine the strategic needs for capacity strengthening of the organization; (3) sympathetic ways to assess the suitability of partner organizations; (4) how to spread knowledge on organizational assessment within the organization; (5) how to use organizational analysis to initiate processes of institutional change; (6) how to create sufficient willingness among counterparts to start organizational assessment.
