Abstract:
The ICCO Alliance, consisting of ICCO, Kerk in Actie, Edukans and Prisma, advocates the right to quality education for everyone. ICCO focuses particularly on literacy programmes for uneducated young people and adults. This paper is the result of intensive collaboration between ICCO and civil society organisations in various countries where literacy programmes organised within the framework of the ICCO Alliance’s education programme are being carried out. It describes why and how ICCO wants to contribute to Education for All through functional literacy and education for young people and adults, especially for marginalised groups in the global society.
