Prof. Hesham El-Askary

Biography:

Dr. El-Askary is a renowned earth system scientist addressing global climate change issues and extreme events associated with it. His research utilizes earth observations and modeling in studying the impact these extremes on water resources, precision agriculture, marine environment and their relation to the sustainable development goals.

He is the 2015 recipient of the Chapman University's elite Senior Wang-Fradkin Professorship award. His work has received more than 20 M USD in funding from the UN, World bank, National Science Foundation, NASA, United States Department of Agriculture and the European Union., Department of Education, The Egyptian Academy of Science Research and Technology and many more agencies.

Dr. El-Askary has published over 200 refereed research publications, conferences full papers and book chapters in these research areas. Dr. El-Askary has received the Saudi Arabia award hosted by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) affiliated with the League of Arab states and Game Changer award and many more. He is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), AGU, EGU, COSPAR, and Phi Beta Delta Honor Society.
