Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), through the Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), affiliated to the Academic Research Sector, and The World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries’ Arab Regional Partner (TWAS–AREP), is organizing the “Shaping the Future of Science and Research in the Arab Region: AI, Emerging Technologies, and Open Science” Hybrid workshop that will be held from 27 to 29 October 2026. The workshop is held under the framework of the Young Scientists Training Program, which aims to build the capacities of young Arab scientists and provide them with the needed skills and knowledge to advance their careers and achieve their professional goals.
The workshop aims to bring young scientists from Arab countries together with high caliber scientists, academics, and professionals to exchange knowledge, expertise, and discuss research innovation and emerging technology strategies.
The workshop features interactive sessions covering a variety of topics, including: an introduction to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence for interdisciplinary research, the principles of open science and scientific integrity, and effective academic skills in the age of artificial intelligence.
In addition, to specialized sessions discussing the application of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in the research fields of climate change, water, energy, and drug discovery.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The age of applicants must not exceed 40 years.
- Master/PhD students and PhD holders in life and natural sciences fields, living/working in one of the developing countries- excluding refugee or displaced scientists.
- Women scientists and Refugees and/or displaced scientists living in any country are highly encouraged to apply.

تنظم مكتبة الإسكندرية من خلال مركز الدراسات والبرامج الخاصة بقطاع البحث الأكاديمي والشريك العربي الإقليمي لأكاديمية العالم للعلوم للدول النامية (TWAS-AREP) ورشة عمل إقليمية هجينة بعنوان "تشكيل مستقبل العلوم والبحث العلمي في المنطقة العربية: الذكاء الاصطناعي، التكنولوجيات الناشئة، والعلم المفتوح" في الفترة من 27 إلى 29 أكتوبر 2026. تُعقد ورشة العمل تحت مظلة برنامج تدريب العلماء الشباب، الذي يهدف إلى بناء قدرات شباب الباحثين العرب بما يسهم في تطوير مهارتهم العلمية وتحقيق أهدافهم المهنية وتعزيز شبكة العلاقات والتعاون بين العلماء العرب.
تهدف ورشة العمل إلى تبادل المعرفة والخبرات بين شباب الباحثين من مختلف البلدان العربية مع نخبة من العلماء والأكاديميين والمتخصصين حول موضوعات الذكاء الاصطناعي والتكنولوجيات الناشئة في المنطقة العربية .
تقدم ورشة العمل جلسات تفاعلية تتناول محاور وموضوعات متنوعة تشمل: تعريف بأسس الذكاء الاصطناعي للبحوث متعددة التخصصات، ومبادئ العلم المفتوح والنزاهة العلمية، والمهارات الأكاديمية الفعالة في عصر الذكاء الاصطناعي. إضافة إلى جلسات تخصصية تناقش توظيف التكنولوجيات الناشئة والذكاء الاصطناعي في مجالات أبحاث: التغير المناخي والمياه، والطاقة، واكتشاف الدواء.
شروط التقديم:
• يجب ألا يزيد السن للمتقدمين عن 40 عامًا.
• طلاب الماجستير والدكتوراه وحاملي الدكتوراه في مجالات العلوم الطبيعية الذين يعيشون/يعملون في أحد البلدان النامية - باستثناء العلماء اللاجئين أو النازحين.
• نشجع بشدة العلماء من النساء واللاجئين و/أو العلماء النازحين الذين يعيشون في أي بلد على التقدم.
تكاليف الاشتراك: ورشة العمل مجانية.
