-Mervat Elshabrawy, MD - Associate Prof.Ophthalmology& Ophthalmic Surgery, FOM, SCU, Egypt. - Manager of Technical Institute of Nursing, SCU (2002 till now). -Certified Trainer of International Research Ethics, Maryland University, USA,(2006)through Fogarty scholarships. - Member of Scientific Research Ethics Council,ASRT, Cairo. - Member of RDIC-BEST, ASRT& UNESCO, Cairo. - Member of REC, FOM, SCU,Egypt. - Member of many Ophthalmological Socities ( National& International in Africa,Europe and USA). - Founder of Bioethics Curriculum for undergraduate medical students, FOM, SCU. - Areas of Scientific interests are Cornea& Refractive Surgery and the whole field of Bioethics and in particular, research ethics.
 
 
  Abstract
 
Academy of Scientific Research & Technology is the Egyptian house of expertise.It brings together outstanding Egyptian scientists from universities, research institutions, private sector, NGOs, policymakers and prominent Egyptian scientists.It experts deliberate country problems, propose and carry out the needed scientific future studies and strategic plans to tackle these problem.ASRT has been selected to host the Regional Documentation and Information Centre for Bioethics and Ethics of Science and Technology( RDIC-BEST) supported by UNESCO. Its mission is to provide affordable access to the widest possible range of national, regional and international materials related to bioethics and ethics in science and technology and fostering science in public interest. It will achieve this mission through collecting data of bioethics and allied sciences from the region (Literature, Experts, Organizations…..),Organizing data through the main functions (documentation, cataloguing, indexing, authority lists for experts…etc)and Disseminating information to the region through the current awareness services, automatic alerts, website updates, Electronic newsletter, media, conf., ...etc).
