Biography:

• Philipp Schepelmann is project co-ordinator in the Research Group for Material Flows and Resource Management at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment, Energy.
• He holds a PhD in environmental planning (Dr.-Ing.).
• He has worked as analyst and policy advisor for several EU Member States, the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Environment Agency.
• He has been involved in a different EU Framework projects about the monitoring of physical impacts of human development.
• His fields of expertise are quantitative information systems for sustainability assessments, EU regional development and sustainability policies.
• Philipp Schepelmann has been visiting lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Trier, the Asian Pacific University, Oita, Japan; the University of Kassel and the Jean Monnet European Centre of Excellence at the University of Wuppertal.
