Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt holds the first workshop devoted to drafting a national cultural policy for Egypt today, at Bayt Al-Sinnari in Cairo

In collaboration with the European Union, and within the framework of the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt program, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) is organizing a workshop today, Wednesday the 8th of July 2015, under the theme of “Questions on the Cultural Flow in Egypt”. The event will be held at the historical building of Bayt Al-Sinnari, and is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm.

The event acquires its major significance from being the first in a series of workshops that are devoted to drafting a cultural policy for Egypt, that would be presented to the Egyptian authorities for discussion and adoption. As the Support to Cultural Diversity and Creativity in Egypt program nears completion, the process of drafting a national cultural policy for Egypt emerges as one its main assets; brought to fruition by the Cultural Debates activity, which explores the means of improving the cultural sector in Egypt.

The event will be chaired by Dr. Ismail Serageldin, director of the BA. A group of renowned thinkers and intellectuals will be attending the event as well.
