The Writing and Scripts Center recently published the Fourteenth Issue of Abgadiyat Journal; a scientific refereed journal issued annually. Abgadiyat Journal is published and distributed worldwide in partnership with Brill Publishing, Leiden, Netherlands.

 After the great success of the 1st Athens Conference (1st-3rd February 2017), we are very pleased to invite you to the 2nd Egyptological Conference organized by the Hellenic Institute of Egyptology, the Universidade Aberta of Lisbon, the Centre of History of the Lisbon University, the Writing & Scripts Centre of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Hellenic Society for Aesthetics, & c., under the Auspices of the Association of Greek Women Scientists. The conference is held in Athens, during 10 to 14 February 2020.

The Center organizes its first seminar about “The Egyptian and Arab Pioneers in the Study of Arabic and Islamic Inscriptions”. On Wednesday and Thursday, 18 and 19 December 2019, from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Main Entrance, Auditorium Hall
The seminar aims to shed light on the contributions of the pioneers of the Egyptian and Arab scholars in the Study of Arabic and Islamic inscriptions.

Lecture about The Great Procession Way- Inscriptions and Discoveries in Bibliotheca Alexandria
Writing and Scripts center affiliated to the Academic Research Sector in Bibliotheca Alexandria organizes a lecture entitled “The Great Procession Way- Inscriptions and Discoveries”. This lecture will be delivered by Dr. Mostafa El Saghir, General Director of Kanak and Medamoud Antiquities, and the Supervisor of the Rams Road. It will be held on Thursday, 12 December 2019, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Main Building – Auditorium Hall.

The Center organizes a practical course to teach the “Principles of Arabic Calligraphy (Roka’a and Naskh)”. The course will be held from Thursday 31 October 2019 to Thursday 5 December 2019 from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Main Building.
