Bibliotheca alexandrina Youth Sustainability Award

Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) believes that youth can and will change the world to a better future and their engagement is critical to achieve in the sustainable development goals by 2030. Consequently, BA launched its award for Youth and sustainable development that is focusing on supporting the sustainable development and youth innovation in Africa. The Evaluation will be based on criteria and according to the decision of the Award Committee members. Submission for the award has to be via website.


Who can apply?

  • The award is opened for individuals: Arab and African youth below 35 years old, it may be a group of youth (maximum 5 persons) where at least one of the member should be less than 35 and should be the submitter of the project and the person in contact.
  • Every person can applied only once for the award whether as the main submitter or as partner in the project.


Copyrights

  • The project should not be submitted to other prizes or awards.
  • By submitting your project to BA award, BA has the full right to use and to share it with any partners: content, photos and videos project without the permission of the submitter.


Winners selection

The winners will be selected from among the submissions in each category according to the jury committee without mentioning any justification for their decision. No legal recourse is possible against the Jury decision.

Three prizes will be offered to the best three projects:
  • First Prize :30,000 EGP
  • Second Prize :20,000 EGP
  • Third Prize : 10,000EGP

  • Launch of BA Award: 28 September 2021
  • Call for application: 3 October 2021
  • BA Award closes: 31 January 2022
  • BA Award Jury processes: 1 February - 30 April 2022
  • Announcement of Winners: June 2022


Criteria of the submitted projects:

  • Innovative project.
  • Be ongoing and have been running for at least 2 last years.
  • Contribute to one or more of the following Sustainable development fields: Food and agriculture, Education, Health, Water and Climate Change.
  • Show the presence of evidences of results and measurable indicators in solving a problem in the chosen field from the above mentioned field.
