Bushra is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto holding an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Peace and Conflict Studies. She has been very involved throughout her undergraduate degree in research, NGO work, and leadership roles. Bushra has done research in both Arabic and English at the Canadian Centre for the Responsibility to Protect and the Senate of Canada on humanitarian issues in the Middle East and has additionally utilized her Arabic language skills to develop an independent research paper on the role of Syrian civil society post the 2011 Syrian War. She has also served as the Co-Director of the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) Student Refugee Program at the University of Toronto, was the President of the Association of Political Science Students, the students union representing over 3000 political science students at the University of Toronto, and was the Co-Chair of the "Humanitarianism Exposed: Non-Governmental and Private Sector Perspectives on Aid and Development" conference at the Munk School of Global Affairs. Bushra is very passionate about all issues and causes related to the Middle East and hopes to use her passion and experience towards the Youth for Change project.
