MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data is the most famous MARC 21 format and the most used of the five formats. It is created to hold bibliographic information and describe the intellectual and physical characteristics of all types of resources. Such bibliographic information includes titles, names, dates, publication data, physical description and notes.
