Online Lecture: Jebel al-Silsila: New Perspectives on Inscriptions and Latest Discoveries.

Within the framework of the cultural program of Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Book Fair in its Sixteenth Cycle, the Writing and Scripts Center affiliated to the Academic Research Sector organized an online lecture entitled “Jebel al-Silsila: New Perspectives on Inscriptions and latest Discoveries”.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Moamen Saad Mohamed, the member of the Swedish Mission of Jebel al-Silsila, and the Director of the Archaeological Unit at Luxor International Airport, at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The lecture was broadcasted on Saturday, August 21, at 7:00 pm.
The lecture focused on the efforts of the Swedish mission headed by Dr. Maria Nilsson in Jebel al-Silsila site, which lies on both sides of the Nile between the cities of Edfu and Kom Ombo, and is characterized by the sandstone mountains.
The lecture spotted on many prehistoric sites that were unknown before, in addition to shedding light on the epigraphy of inscriptions.
