Recording of "The Merchant of Venice" for the Blind and Visually Impaired

In the context of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina celebration of over 400 years of the death of the (universal or global or international) writer William Shakespeare, The Digital Talking Book "DTB" unit -subsidiary to the Taha Hussien Library for blind and visually impaired- has selected the play titled  "The Merchant of Venice", one of the most famous works of Shakespeare, translated by Dr. Mohamed Enani, to be recorded and presented to the audience as an Audio show.

A very distinctive group of readers and library staff have been selected who are Arabic language and acting performance proficient.

A workshop was held in which the roles have been distributed according to the voices and how close it is to the spirit of the original character, Also they have been trained on how to perform the assigned role for 2 months during which the complete work has been recorded, then the technical editing phase for the voice article and adding the sound effects, and finally, the final review.

to be presented to the audience as an Audio show on Sunday 24th of April, 2016 from 1:00 pm till 5:00 pm in the Lecture Hall of the conference center.
