KIT Dossier Gender and health

KIT's area Health works to improve the health status of people in low- and middle income countries by supporting the development of effective, equitable and sustainable health systems. Focus areas related to women and gender include HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, and safe motherhood.

Together with Health Care International (HCI) and Liverpool Associates in Tropical Health (LATH), KIT is providing the Yemen Maternal and Newborn Health Programme with managerial, technical and coordination support. (Source: Royal Tropical Institute Annual Report 2007)

KIT's Area Social Development and Gender Equity develops and implements strategies that promote equal rights for men and women, and women's empowerment.

Sexual and reproductive health including HIV/AIDS is one of the short courses that KIT offers.

Exchange on HIV/AIDS, sexuality and gender is a quarterly newsletter produced by KIT.
