Prof Abdel-Rahman El-Zayadi

   Biography
 
Dr El-Zayadi was born on 1938. Graduated from Cairo University, 1964, Awarded M.D. from Ain Shams University, 1972. Professor of Tropical Medicine, Ain Sham University (1982 -1998). Emeritus professor of Tropical Medicine, Ain Sham University from 1998. He received international training in Tropical Institute, Hamburg, 1973, GIT Endoscopy in Erlangen University, 1974 & Bad Canstatt Hospital, Stuttgart, Germany, 1975. He published 122 articles in the field of hepato-gastroenterology & endoscopy –most of these papers were published internationally & wrote 3 chapters in important 3 text books. He shared in establishment of African Association for the Study of Liver Disease in 1982. Member of the Educational committee in the World Congress of Gastroenterology (1986–1994). President of African Association for the Study of Liver Disease (1992– 994). President of First International Symposium on Viral Hepatitis, Cairo 1996. Chief of Hepatology in Pan Arab Association of Gastroenterology (1997-2001). Shared in the establishment of AMAGE in 2000. Member of Editorial Board of World Journal of Gastroenterology. Founded GIT Endoscopy Unit at Ain Shams University by personal efforts in 1975. Introduced new technology in the field of therapeutic endoscopy (1983-1998). Supervised 31 M.S & 25 M.D theses. Participated in more than 100 international conferences. Opened channels for joint research with eminent researchers worldwide. Founded Cairo Liver Center, 1991. A member of many international societies.
