  Abstract

Human Genetic Variation as Structural and Functional Diversity of Biomacromolecules. The Pathway to Individual Medicine.

Results of Russian project 2005-2007. Sergey Varfolomeev Institute of Biochemical Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University Genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and post-genomic chemistry open the new area in biomedical research. Modern methodology of analysis of structural particularities of DNA and proteins for individuals is based on enzyme technologies, DNA genes amplification, mass-spectrometry of biomacromolecules. The options and trends in research methods are discussed in details. The special interesting results were obtained in protein analysis of exalted air condensate. In Russia was organized the project “Human polymorphism” with participation of Moscow State University and key research groups of Russian Academy of Sciences. The structural diversity of DNA (SNP analysis) and proteins was analyzed for different systems of human organism, including the genetic, proteomic and catalytic polymorphism of enzymes, ribosome DNA, DNA retroelements and others. The research is focused on the analysis of predispositions of individuals for diseases on genetic and protein level. The results are the basis for development of cardiogenomics, oncologenomics, pharmocologenomics and grounds for fundamental understanding of illnesses and pathologies. Special Russian peculiarity is the multy-national structure of the society. The fundamental results were obtained in the field of the ethnogenomics and ethnogeography.
