Dr Perihan Abou Zeid

   Biography
 
Dr. Perihan Abou Zeid is a private attorney and mediator specialized in Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and International Law. She is a Member of the Subcommittee for Reviewing the current Egyptian IPRs Law Number 82 for the year 2002 and its Regultion. She is also a Lecturer at the Master degree program of Agricultural Exports and Logistics at the Institute of International Transport and Logistics (the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport – Cairo). She holds a LLM in international business law from the University of Hull – UK, and a PhD degree from the Univeristy of Bany Swaif – Egypt. Her PhD thesis was titled the “Legal Protection of Pharmaceuticals: Flexibilities and Aspirations” and was awarded the highest academic grade stipulated by the Univerisity’s Evaluation Regulation. Dr. Perihan is the author of a book titled “The Legal Protection of Pharmaceuticals: A Comparative Study on Egypt, E.U, U.S Laws”, 2008. She participated in different conferences among them the Biotechnology and Sustainable Development Conference organised by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in 2002 where she presented a poster titled “TRIPS or TRAPS? That is the Question!”. She is interested in different IPRs areas, and in strengthening and developing available and new legal tools for the dissemination of knowledge and the transfer of technologies to developing and least developed countries.
