The BA Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Support Program is organizing a seminar entitled "Youth and Sustainable Development in Africa", on Sunday, 4 February 2024, at 1:00 pm, in the BACC Lecture Hall. The event will be attended by nearly 150 African students representing different countries, including Sudan, South Sudan, Malawi, Madagascar, Comoros, and Egypt. These students are part of the “African League of Young Masters” program, which is aimed at building the scientific and knowledge capacities of young Africans.

This seminar aims at raising awareness of the concept of sustainable development and its goals among African students, while discussing the most significant challenges of achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals from the point of view of these young people. It also attempts to identify the most important fields that must be focused on in the coming period and the visions of these young people for a better future in Africa.

It is worth mentioning that the BA has adopted these young people through a set of specialized programs, most notably the “African League of Young Masters” program - established in 2011 – that targets African students studying at the universities of Alexandria, Cairo, and Ain Shams. This program aims to strengthen Egyptian-African relations and open channels of communication between African students and their Egyptian peers to develop their scientific and knowledge skills.
