Souad Massi to Conclude International Summer Festival Events

The BA will conclude the 14th International Summer Festival with a Souad Massi Concert on Thursday, 8 September at 8:30 pm, the BA Open Theater.
Souad Massi skillfully and beautifully combines between traditional Algerian music with American Folk-rock music and Andalusian Arab music. She is known for her pure, smooth, and enticing voice, and she sings either in Algerian or occasionally in French or Berber.
Souad Massi was born in Algeria and was raised in a musical family. She started roaming her city’s stages with her guitar when she was 17 years old. In 1999, she participated in the Femmes d'Algerie (Women from Algeria) Festival. She eventually became looked upon as the official spokesperson for Algerian youths.
