 Objective: This course aims to study a number of topics on philosophy, literature, and politics, which are related to the Hellenistic in Alexandria.

Content: This course deals with a number of topics on philosophy, literature, and politics related to Hellenism in Alexandria until the 2nd Sophist Movement in the 1st century CE, and the influence of classical Greek literature on Alexandrian writers, especially Theocritus, Callimachus, Apollonius, and Rhodeus. The course is also concerned with studying the Jewish community in Alexandria and the relationship of philosophy and religion from the perspective of Philo of Alexandria. Then the course will discuss Christianity in Alexandria, the features of Christianity in the philosophical schools in Alexandria, study the theological philosophy of Clement of Alexandria, and study the theological philosophy of Origen.
