Objective: This course aims to study the production of Alexandrian art compared to the production of other Hellenistic centers and the role of Alexandria in the arts of the Hellenistic world.

Content: Alexandrian art was a mixture of Alexandria as part of the Hellenistic world including particular creations and renewals within the mainstream of Greek art, and Alexandria as part of Egypt with the ancient Pharaonic artistic traditions. Hence, this course will deal with the peculiarities of Alexandrian art compared to the production of other Hellenistic centers, the distinction of international trends in the arts of Alexandria, and the study of the role of Alexandria in the arts of the Hellenistic world.
