Biography

Ms. Emily is a British Council teach with over 11 years of teaching experience in a number of roles, from Teacher to Trainer and Coordinator to Director of Studies. However, training was the role to which I was best suited, and educational development is where her passions lie. She has taught students aged 3–74 in a variety of course, such as General and Business English, English for Specific Purposes, Exam Preparation and more. She enjoys her job and the ability to interact with and learn about many cultures.

Presentation Abstract

Value of Reading and Storytelling When Learning English

The presentation focuses on the value of reading and storytelling when learning English. This will include the benefits these have for all ages, and the cultural, social and academic rewards they bring. The presentation seeks to encourage parents, businesses and individuals to incorporate more reading into their routines in a variety of ways. Reading aloud a sample of text to demonstrate the art of storytelling will be a part of this presentation.
