Omar Samra Tells the Story of "The Long Road to Everest"

Alexandria— The BA hosts on Tuesday, 25 September 2007, Omar Samra, the first Egyptian to summit Mount Everest. Samra will give a lecture entitled "The Long Road to Everest", in which he will share his exciting experience in climbing Mount Everest, 8,850 m., starting from the two-year journey of preparation to the minute of Everest climb. The expedition itself lasted for a little over 2 months.

Omar Samra is 29 years old. He studied economics at the American University in Cairo, and was awarded an MBA degree from the London Business School. He participated in other expeditions including crossing the Costa Rica's jungle in 3 weeks, cycling across the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and around Andalusia in Spain. As a keen traveler, Omar has visited over than 35 different countries and wrote about his traveling experiences in both Arabic and English.

The lecture will start at 11:00 hrs. in the BA Conference Center, Great Hall.
