Alexandria— The BA issued a popular edition of "The Marvels of Arabic Calligraphy in the Al-Busiri Mosque”, in an attempt to disseminate knowledge among the public.

Dr. Khaled Azab, Deputy Director of the Calligraphy Center, stated that the book is the first edition of a series of research studies published by the Center entitled "Journals of Research Projects", to present the archeological texts, which were not published before.

Dr. Khaled Azab added that the Calligraphy Center is also implementing a project to digitize ancient Arabic, Egyptian, and Greco-Roman inscriptions and make them available on the Center's website.

It is worth mentioning that Al-Busiri Mosque was renovated by Mohamed Saeed Basha. It was a small mosque founded by Al-Aref Bellah Sidi Mohamed Al-Abasiry in 1743. Mohamed Saeed Basha reconstructed the new mosque in 1875. Al-Busiri Mosque has a special status among other mosques in Alexandria, due to the richness of its inscriptions and calligraphies.
