Video Conference of the 9th Current Research in Egyptology Symposium (CRE)

Alexandria— The Ancient Egyptian Unit, BA Calligraphy Center, is organizing a video conference of "The 9th Current Research in Egyptology Symposium (CRE)", which will take place at the University of Manchester, from 9 to 11 of January 2008.

CRE is organized by “The KNH Center for Biomedical Egyptology” affiliated to The University of Manchester; which is an annual symposium held in universities in the UK for scholars from around the world. Postgraduate students and independent scholars attend this event from all over the world and it has become a showcase for new research in all fields of Egyptology.

The Symposium aims to provide a forum for the discussion of Egyptological research currently being conducted by students at the graduate level, including archaeology, art, language, religion, science, culture and society, as well as theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of ancient Egypt.

The video conference will be held at the BA Conference Center, Small Theater, from 11:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs.
