The BA Issues a Commemorative Book on Akhbar El Yom

Alexandria— The BA issued a commemorative book entitled "Akhbar El Yom.. An Egyptian Press School" to document the history of one of the most important foundations in the Egyptian press, which shaped the development of press in Egypt. The Book comprises 400 pages, recording the achievements of this edifice, founded in 1944, and the participation of men of letters and intellectuals belonging to different political parties, including Tawfiq al-Hakim, Salama Moussa and others.

Dr. Khaled Azab, Director of the BA Media Department, stated that the BA presents this book in the Cairo International Book Fair and added that the book contains documents, rare pictures of Akhbar El Yom, and biographies of foundering members including Mostafa and Ali Amin, Ahmad El Sawy, Mohamed El Tabei, Kamel El Shennawi, and others, who were part of the contemporary Egyptian conscience and culture at that time.

The book is part of the BA Media Department series of publications documenting Egyptian press foundations including Rosa al Yousef, Akhbar El Yom, Dar El Helal, and Elgomhoria.
