The Dialogue Forum Celebrates Qassem Amin’s Centennial

The BA Dialogue Forum is organizing a Conference entitled “Qassem Amin and Women’s Liberation”, which is due to take place on 18 and 19 December 2008, and which marks the passage of 100 years after his death.
The Conference brings together a group of intellectuals and government officials, among which are General Adel Labib, Governor of Alexandria; Dr. Gaber Asfour; Judge Tahani El-Gebali; Mrs. Inaam Mohamed Ali; Dr. Amna Nosseir; Dr. Abdel- Mo’ti Bayoumi; and Dr. Salah Fadel.
The participants will discuss a number of topics, mainly: Qassem Amin’s principles on women’s liberation, the religious, social, economic and political basis of women’s liberation; views and analysis of some of Qassem Amin’s writings; and the influence of Qassem Amin’s writings on women’s liberation.
