Alexandria— The Institute for Peace Studies (IPS), chaired by Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, Chairperson of the Library of Alexandria Board of Trustees, is organizing on Saturday, 8 August 2009, the end of its academic courses and certificate distribution celebration.

Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria and Vice Chairman of IPS Board of Directors, will hand out the end of courses certificates to the participants, in the presence of a group of the IPS professors and students.

The IPS offered four courses this year, namely: the culture of peace, human rights, conflict resolution, and negotiation and mediation, taught by a group of professors from Egypt and abroad, and attended by 87 participants from Egypt, Iraq, Italy, Germany, and France.

It is worth mentioning that the IPS is an academic center affiliated to the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement, aiming to support the Movement through concluding new partnerships with specialized bodies and institutes, conducting research studies, and holding training programs in all issues related to peace.
