Alexandria— The BA Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) holds during the period from 8-13 December 2007, a workshop entitled "Bioinformatics Workshop: Computer methods in Molecular Biology".

Dr. Mohamed El-Faham, Director of the CSSP, stated that the workshop creates a bridge of interaction amongst biologists, biochemists, and computer science engineers by exposing them to real cutting edge molecular biology computational techniques and opening unprecedented opportunities to overcome current research challenges.

He added that prominent instructors will participate in the workshop to highlight present challenges in bioinformatics and deliver solutions.

The workshop targets scientists who have professional knowledge in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology, a fundamental familiarity with computer uses and applications, in addition to a need for DNA or protein sequence analysis awareness for the ongoing research.
