HE Mrs. Mubarak Delivers the Closing Remarks in "Women in Science" Conference

HE Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak gave an address in the closing session of "Women in Science" Conference on Wednesday, 24 October 2007.
At the outset of her address, Mrs. Mubarak expressed her pride and appreciation to the achievements of the BA during the past five years, and stated "what the BA achieved in this significantly short period is a miracle", and considered the BA Egypt's fourth pyramid.
She moved to the conference subject, and focused on the huge change related to the role of women in developing their societies, referring to the fact that more women are now working in science and technology, and that men are sharing in the responsibility of their households; a matter that facilitates women participation in the promotion of their societies.
HE Mrs. Mubarak added that the world now acknowledges the vital role of women in science and technology, and that several women are now models for their societies, referring to Wangari Muta Maathai, 2004 Kenyan Nobel Laureate.
HE Mrs. Mubarak stressed on the importance of international cooperation between women in science and technology, through networks for the exchange of expertise. She added that the National Council for Women in Egypt established a permanent committee to effectuate and increase the participation of women in science and technology, and concluded her address by referring to the responsibility shouldered by the entire society to empower women in science and technology.
