Mozart’s Opera The Magic Flute in Modern Egyptian Language

Mozart’s last opera The Magic Flute will be performed at the BA from 12 to 14 January 2011 as a joint production between the BA Arts Center and Fabrica Organization for the Promotion of Contemporary Egyptian Music Theater.

It is performed for the first time in modern Egyptian language, a new translation of the original Libretto by Emanuel Schikanaeder done by Dr. Sarah Enany and Dr. Neveen Allouba. The Opera will be performed by a group of young Alexandrian artists, all trained at the BA Arts School, accompanied by several members of the BA Choir, together with renowned professional Egyptian Opera singers. The Magic Flute is conducted by Maestro Sherif Mohie El-Din leading the BA Chamber Orchestra, and directed by Mohamed Abou El Kheir.
