Research Grants 2012

In response to the BA/CSSP 2012 Research Grants announcement made by the Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP), 145 proposals were submitted in Agricultural Sciences, Biology & Biotechnology, Chemistry & Biochemistry, Engineering Sciences & Technology, Earth Sciences, Information Technology & Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Medical Sciences Physics & Biophysics, and Pre-University Education.

A blind online review process is used to evaluate each proposal. The Reviewing Committee currently comprises 128 international eminent scientist and Nobel Laureates representing all areas of research. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations; Twelve candidates were selected to attend Research Grants 2012 Top Listed Interviews on 8 – 9 April 2013.

The top listed candidates were interviewed by a high caliber scientific committee. The Committee members were Dr. Mohamed El-Faham, Director of the Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP); Dr. Yousry El-Gamal, member of CSSP Board of Directors, E-Just BoT Chairman, and former Minister of Education; Dr. Magdy Madkour, member of CSSP Board of Directors Professor of Biotechnology, Arid Lands Agricultural Research Institute (ALARI), Ain Shams University; Dr. Yehia Halim Zaki, BA Consultant; and Dr. Salah Soliman, BA Consultant. Then two winners were selected as Research Grants winners for the year 2012.

On Thursday, 23 May 2013 , the two final winners signed their contracts.
