About Bibliotheca Alexandrina Center for Environmental Studies (BA-CES)

The Center for Environmental Studies (CES) is one of the centers belong to the Academic Research Sector of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA). As the world environmental stresses increase, representing a real challenges for our generation and the future generations, BA decided to launch the Center for Environmental Studies (CES) in 2014 as one of its research center with the following vision, mission and objectives: Vision: To become a leading national and international center engaged in high-quality, cutting-edge and policy-relevant research and studies that contributes to better understanding and provides solution to environmental stressing issues. Mission: To conduct studies, researches and technical reports aiding and policy makers in taking informative decisions. The CES has also excelled in the area of building environmental research capacities for students, scholars, and organizations engaged in environmental science research in the region. As well as to advance public debate and raise the public awareness about important environmental issues. Objectives:

• Conduct strategic studies and reports on national, regional, and global environmental issues.

• Establish strategic partnerships with Universities, Research Centers, and like-minded institutions

• Sponsor thematic training programs and workshops to develop national capacities on knowledge and methods related to environmental research

• BAking and promoting environmental awareness among youth.
