First Alexandrian Youth Forum at the BA

Dr. Mostafa el Feki, Director of the BA, participated in the First Alexandrian Youth Forum, held on Monday, 12 March, under the title “Participate, Create, Act”. The event was held under the auspices of the Egyptian Prime Minister, with the participation of Alexandrian youth, and it was organized in collaboration with the Northern Military Region, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST), and Alexandria University. Dr. Mohamed Sultan. Governor of Alexandria, and Eng. Khaled Abdel Aziz, Minister of Youth and Sports, were among the attendees.
Dr. El Feki stated that Egypt is on the right track, affirming that it is a vital Arab and African dynamic and an active force in the world.
The forum’s objective is to allow the government and young people to realistically exchange ideas and perspectives in order to formulate a comprehensive and all-inclusive vision of the future through dialogue and discussing various issues. It also aims to encourage youth to present science-based suggestions, identify their needs and future aspirations, and promote their dynamic contribution to the different aspects of Egypt’s development process. The event shed light on the role of young people in creativity and innovation, and it aspires to develop their skills and prepare them to become future leaders, support their science-based and innovative projects, and offer them a bridge of communication with officials and the media.
The forum highlighted several successful models of exceptional and innovative young people. It also tackled a number of themes revolving around topics and issues that matter to the different age groups of youth and increase their awareness of the nature of Egypt’s developmental stage. The aforementioned themes include the development of education, scientific research, and the training of future leaders; the prospects for development in Alexandria; youth and modern technology; youth and small business development; the fight against extremism and the renewal of religious discourse; youth, immigration, and the reduction of unemployment; political participation and confronting terrorism; and the development of the health sector.
