The BA Launches a Series of Webinars Titled “Arab Rural Spaces in a Changing World”

The BA Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Support Program is launching a series of webinars titled “Arab Rural Spaces in a Changing World,” in collaboration with the Center for Social Research and Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University. The series' first session will be held on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, at 5:00 pm.
The series will begin with a seminar titled “Global Changes and their Impact on Rural Egypt,” moderated by Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the BA and Professor of Sociology, and delivered by Prof. Mohie Shehata, Professor of Sociology at Menoufia University.
Prof. Shehata is the author of numerous works on rural sociology, development prospects in rural Egypt, and the social challenges facing Egyptian society. He has received the University Award for Excellence in Social Sciences, published numerous research papers in local, regional, and international academic journals, and supervised a large number of theses in the field of sociology.
This series is a continuation of the “Social Sciences in a Changing World” series launched by the BA in 2024, which was titled “Arab Cities in a Changing World” in its first edition.
