The Bibliotheca Alexandrina will open the 21st round of its International Book Fair, which will take place from 6 to 20 July 2026, in collaboration with the General Egyptian Book Organization and the Egyptian and Arab Publishers Association.
Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, announced that renowned filmmaker Daoud Abdel Sayed has been selected as the Personality of this year’s round, in recognition of his rich artistic career and his outstanding contributions to Egyptian cinema.
The Library remains committed to providing an integrated cultural and intellectual experience for visitors by hosting a selection of the most prominent Egyptian and Arab publishing houses and making available the latest publications across various fields of knowledge.
The fair also features a packed cultural program comprising a large number of distinctive events, attended by a group of prominent thinkers, writers, and creators in literature, the arts, and the sciences. In addition to the events held in Alexandria, parallel events will take place at both Sinnari House in Sayeda Zeinab district and Princess Khadija Palace in Helwan.
This year’s events will include the official ceremony of the second edition of the BA Reading Award, which the Library launched last year.
