The BA Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center (Alex Med) is hosting the international workshop “Voices of Alexandria: Co-Creating Inclusive Historic Urban Spaces,” organized by the Department of Architecture and CT Lab at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, from 2 to 7 November 2026.
The workshop is held in partnership with Germany’s Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Lebanon’s Notre Dame University–Louaize, and Oman’s Scientific College of Design, with the aim of enhancing international academic cooperation and exchanging expertise among students and academics in the fields of architecture and urban planning.
It focuses on developing innovative concepts for place-making in the historical center of Alexandria, by exploring ways to strengthen community participation in shaping urban spaces, while considering the historical and cultural characteristics of the city, and supporting the creation of a more inclusive and sustainable urban environment.
The workshop is part of the DAAD-funded “Inclusive Cities” project.
