Closing of the Fourth International Forum on Calligraphy, Writing and Inscription Throughout the Ages

Alexandria—The Fourth International Forum on Calligraphy, Writing and Inscription Throughout the Ages came to a close on Wednesday, 18 March 2009. The Forum was organized by the BA Calligraphy Center in collaboration with Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).

The Forum was held with the aim of strengthening the dialogue that has been going on about the history of banknotes and coins, recognizing the different inscriptions and writings on coins in the world. Over the period of three days, ninety researchers from sixteen countries presented and discussed their papers, studies and researches.

The Forum covered different topics, namely: the origin of coins, coin mintage, coins inscriptions and banknotes.
