The BA Participates in the IFLA 2010 Conference

The BA International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Center for Arabic Speaking Libraries (IFLA-CASL) will participate in the 76th IFLA General Conference and Assembly entitled “Open Access to Knowledge - Promoting Sustainable Progress", held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 10 to 15 August 2010.


IFLA-CASL will provide simultaneous translation for the conference proceedings, as well as editing and translating IFLA Express 2010, the conference’s daily newsletter. IFLA-CASL also holds the Annual Forum for Libraries and Librarians, that will discuss challenges facing Arab libraries and propose new ideas for a better tomorrow.
 

Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria , will give a lecture about censorship in the session dedicated to freedom of expression on Friday, 13 August 2010.
