“The Heritage of Helwan” in a Lecture at Khadija Palace

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Antiquities Museum organizes a lecture on the history and heritage of the city of Helwan, on Wednesday, 25 December 2019, at 2:00 pm, at the BA Khadija Palace in Helwan. It is delivered by Dr. Abdel Monsef Negm, Head of the Archaeology Department, at the Faculty of Arts, Helwan University.

The lecture will tackle the history of the old city of Helwan, which was established by Abdel Aziz ibn Marwan in the Umayyad Period, and continued until the end of the Ottoman Era. The lecture will also highlight the important public and cultural buildings of Helwan from the time of Khedive Ismail to the time of King Farouk.
