“The Use of Mosaic Art to Promote Alexandria” in a Seminar at the BA

The BA Antiquities Museum – in cooperation with the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion in Alexandria, the Museums Sector at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and ADASA Club – organizes a seminar entitled “The Use of Mosaic Art to Promote Alexandria.” It is held on Tuesday, 14 February 2023, at 11:00 am, in the Auditorium Hall, BA Main Building.

The seminar includes a series of lectures, and starts with an opening speech by Dr. Hussein Abdel Bassir, Director of the BA Antiquities Museum, followed by a lecture entitled "Manifestations of Beauty in Ancient Mosaic Art", delivered by Dr. Iman Shahawy, Alexandria museums’ Director of Research and Mosaic Studies.

The second lecture is titled: "Modern Uses of Mosaic and its Role in Promoting Tourism", conducted by Dr. Mona Ali Ragab, Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University.

"The Photograph and its Role in Tourism" is the title of the third lecture, which will be delivered by Dr. Alaa Al-Basha, Director of Adasa Photography Club, while the fourth lecture will be held under the title "Promoting Alexandria Using the City's Mosaic Sites", given by Ms. Amal Al-Argawy, Director of the Office of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion in Alexandria.
