Believing in the importance of addressing the most critical environmental challenges, especially the issue of climate change, and of being a platform for youth ideas, the BA Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building and African Relations Support Program, in cooperation with “Earth’s Climate for Sustainable Development” Foundation, organizes the closing ceremony of “Alexandria Climathon” competition on Thursday, 12 October 2023, at 11:00 am, in the BACC Delegates Hall.

This competition is organized for the second consecutive year in order to encourage young people to implement environmental ideas and initiatives. A large number of young people submitted ideas and projects that seek to reduce the effects of climate change, and a training program was prepared to build their capacities and train them to develop their own projects. The best 11 projects were selected as finalists and will be assessed at the BA during the closing ceremony of the competition.

It is worth noting that Climathon competition is organized this year in 14 governorates in order to empower young people to contribute to reducing carbon emissions and adapt to climate change, in an attempt to come up with the best ideas for environmental projects and proposals for solutions to the local problems of various governorates that are caused by the phenomenon of climate change.
