The BA Inaugurates "Wildlife Diversity in Ibero-America" Photo Exhibition

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina inaugurated a photo exhibition entitled "Wildlife Diversity in Ibero-America", in the presence of Dr. Sherif Riad, Head of the External Relations and Media Sector; Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Head of the Cultural Outreach Sector; and Mr. Alejandro Mendoza, Ambassador of Panama in Cairo, together with the ambassadors of Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia and Chile, and representatives of Guatemala, Bolivia and the Dominican Republic.

At the start of his speech, Dr. Sherif Riad welcomed the attendees to this exhibition, which is a space for people from diverse cultures and of different ethnicities, that is being held for the third consecutive year with the participation of thirteen Latin American countries.

For his part, the Ambassador of Panama, on behalf of the Latin American and Caribbean Group, expressed his delight at visiting the BA and inaugurating this remarkable photo exhibition on Ibero-American biodiversity. He stated that the Latin American Week in Alexandria also includes a film festival that represents an opportunity and a space for Egypt and Latin America to exchange cultures and traditions.

He also stressed that the film festival and photo exhibition are a testimony to the friendship and cooperation between Latin America and Egypt, noting that the exhibition represents the countries of Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay, in addition to Spain and Portugal.

The exhibition will open to the public from 19 – 29 November, and 13 films (one film per country) will be screened at Instituto Cervantes in Alexandria, every day at 7:00 pm, from 19 November to 1 December.
